Estimates of Carbon Balance Based on Remote Sensing Data Were Discussed at Online Seminar of the Laboratory

On March 31, 2022, a joint online seminar was held by the international laboratory of landscape ecology of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the Laboratory of Biogeocenology IPEE RAS and the laboratory of biogeography of the IG RAS, dedicated to the issues of assessing the carbon balance based on remote sensing data.

International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology Opens at HSE University

The laboratory will be led by Robert Sandlersky, a specialist in energy and mass transfer and the study of other properties of landscapes via satellite imagery and Senior Research Fellow at the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences. International‌ Landscape‌ Ecology‌ Laboratory‌ Opens at the Faculty

The Higher School of Economics has summed up the results of the project competition "Launching International Laboratories at the National Research University Higher School of Economics for the period from 01.01.2022 to 31.12.2024". As a result of the competition, one of the four new international laboratories was the International Landscape Ecology Laboratory on the basis of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies. Researches will create a set of methods for processing remote information aimed at using it as efficiently as possible as a source of data on the structure and organization of landscape cover.
