On March 2, an HSE Open Day for prospective undergraduates and specialist students will take place — one of the largest and most significant events for applicants, their parents, and the entire university. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with students and representatives of educational programmes, plan their admission process, and immerse themselves in the HSE University atmosphere for a day. The event will be held in Russian.

The bachelor’s programme ‘Geography of Global Changes and Geoinformation Technology’ is offered by the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technology, one of the newest at HSE University. One year ago, Yulia Kuznetsova came on as the programme’s academic supervisor. In this interview for the HSE News Service, Yulia Kuznetsova explains her job duties, where HSE geography students do their field work, and why geography itself can make you happy.

First year students of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technology completed a field trip to the Kursk Biosphere Station of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The study programme included modules on geomorphology, geochemistry and soil science, geobotany, hydrometeorology, cartography and social geography.

During an online meeting Dean of the faculty Nikolay Kurichev explained the applicants how to enter the program "Geography of global changes and geoinformation technology" and answered the questions.

It has been 5 months since the first HSE geography students begun their studies. Throughout these months 34 young people from all over Russia and one student from Brazil were writing courseworks, passing exams, submitting projects and obtaining practical geographical skills.
