The Fifth Seminar Was Held Within the Framework of the Autumn Series of Seminars of the International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology
During the event on December 28, 2024, Alexander Krenke and Mikhail Puzachenko, senior researchers at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, spoke about the heterogeneity of the territory on various scales in landscape and climatic zoning.
The report was devoted to the problem of changing the spatial representativeness of point measurements of ecological and climatic stations (ECS) when changing the scale of the landscape cover display in remote information. The identification of factors of landscape organization using remote information series, climate series and relief models allows us to interpret these factors in the form of heat and moisture flows - the main regulators of carbon balance. In this work, based on two spatial scales and, accordingly, two remote sensing systems, the reproducibility of a number of values of such factors for classes of landscape cover relative to representative territories of the Yuzhno-Valdai Ecological Observatory "Okovsky Forest" is shown. Reproducibility, shown in the form of a regression equation, allows us to approach the indirect calculation of carbon sequestration values at any point in the study area.
