The Spring Series of Seminars of the International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology Continues
On May 8, 2024, the third seminar "Observations of ecosystem flows of heat, moisture and greenhouse gases using an EX on the territory of the Central Forest Reserve" was held.
A unique network of ecological and climatic stations (EX) operates on the territory of the Central Forest Reserve (Tver region) to monitor the processes of energy and mass exchange of representative ecosystems of the southern taiga with the atmosphere. The report by Vadim Vitalievich Mamkin, PhD, researcher at the HSE MLLE/ Head of the Laboratory of Ecological and Climatic Research at the IPEE RAS, provides information on what observations are carried out on the basis of the local network of the EX, as well as on the scope of their application. One of the key topics of discussion was the question of the possibilities of sharing data from direct observations of heat, moisture and greenhouse gas fluxes using an EX with remote sensing data to solve a wide range of scientific problems.
