The Laboratory Researcher Natalia Shartova Joined the Project “Signs of Early Adaptation to Climate Change”
Natalia Sharova, the leading researcher of the International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology, received the position Postdoctoral Fellow in Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
For two years, Natalia will participate in the EARLY-ADAPT project (“Signs of Early Adaptation to Climate Change”, https://www.early-adapt.eu ), supported by the European Research Council. The main goal of the project is a joint analysis of environmental, socio-economic and demographic factors affecting public health in the context of climate change. The main hypothesis of EARLY-ADAPTER is that societies are beginning to adapt to climate change, and the effectiveness of early adaptation is heterogeneous in time and space. The project will make it possible to detect, understand and quantify inequalities in adaptation between countries, regions, cities and social groups.
Participation in this innovative and interdisciplinary project will allow us to explore and contribute to the development of advanced research ideas, hypotheses and methodologies in the field of modeling the relationship between health and the environment, as well as quantifying the modifying effects of social factors.
