The Laboratory Announces the Recruitment of Students for Practical Training
Students are invited to take a summer internship in 2023
The practice is carried out on the basis of the Yuzhno-Valdai Ecological Observatory "Okovsky Forest" of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution named after A.N. Severtsov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a partner of the MLLE, located on the territory of the Central Forest Reserve (Tver region, Nelidovsky district). The trainees will be involved in long-term field research of forest and swamp ecosystems of the Reserve, aimed at studying their structure and dynamics. The research includes soil and geobotanical descriptions on forest transects with a regular step, measurements of the sum of the cross-sectional areas of the stand and the leaf surface index in various ways; regular shooting of the microrelief of the upper swamp with a laser total station and GNSS-RTK receivers, multispectral shooting from UAVs, monitoring of the groundwater level and their flow rate, georadar shooting.
