Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technology operates bachelor's programme "Geography of global changes and geoinformation technology" and master's programme "Low carbon development".
Within the framework of the Bachelor's programme, students receive fundamental theoretical training in the main geographical disciplines and get to know cutting-edge research paradigms and concepts. The study programme includes mastering a wide range of research methods – geographic, mathematical, geophysical, geochemical, biological, geoecological, sociological, and economic. A key part of the undergraduate program is in-depth training in geographic information technology (GIS) for all students. Much attention is paid to mathematical and IT training, modern methods of statistical data analysis.
The Master's programme in Low Carbon Development trains specialists in the field of climate strategies, policies and projects. Graduates of the programme will have a comprehensive knowledge of modern methods and tools for measuring and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, and will possess the relevant competencies to develop climate policy measures, implement climate projects and work in carbon markets.
