International Conference and Summer Field School on Greenhouse Gas Fluxes (August 12 – 20, 2026)

The Laboratory is a co-organizer of the international conference and summer field school “Greenhouse Gas Fluxes: Key Trends in Modern Research”, which will take place August 12–20, 2026

The event will bring together researchers working on measurements and interpretation of greenhouse gas fluxes, biogeochemical cycles, and climate change. The main goal of the conference is to exchange recent scientific results and methodological approaches for studying ecosystem fluxes of climate-active gases.

The conference will be held August 12 – 13 in Moscow at the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Participants will then be able to take part in a field seminar and summer school, which will take place August 14 – 20 at the Central Forest State Nature Biosphere Reserve (Tver Region) at the South Valdai Ecological Observatory “Okovsky Forest.”

The program includes:
• presentations and discussions of recent research results on greenhouse gas fluxes;
• master classes by leading experts;
• practical work at ecological and climatic monitoring stations;
• training in eddy covariance and chamber methods for measuring gas fluxes;
• processing and interpretation of observational data.

Researchers, specialists working at carbon monitoring sites, and representatives of the academic and business communities involved in decarbonization and nature-based climate projects are invited to participate.

Key dates:
Registration: until May 1, 2026
Abstract submission: until May 15, 2026
